The new documentary podcast sheds light on the secret Danish fight club scene.
What drives men to enter a cage where the fights take place with bare fists and completely without rules? This question is posed by the new documentary podcast ‘Undergrunden: The Danish Fight Club’ from Podimo, which gives listeners a rare insight into a hidden community in Denmark.
In abandoned buildings around the country, a group of men gather for brutal confrontations. The centerpiece is a cage where bodies collide in raw fistfights without referees, without safety equipment, and without fixed rules. Here, body and life are at stake in the search for meaning, belonging, and recognition that many participants do not experience elsewhere in society.
Three years of research behind closed doors
Journalists Kristian Toft and Christian Anker have closely followed the environment for three years and gained access to a community that is otherwise completely closed off to the public. They have been present at fights, spoken with both organizers and fighters, and documented how the “underworld” has grown in strength and membership. The result is a podcast series that not only depicts the extreme but also poses the question: Why do some men seek out this community? “The podcast is a window into a group of men who feel excluded from the established society. It is a contribution to help us all understand more about where masculinity and communities related to masculinity stand today,” says journalist Kristian Toft.
More than violence
Although violence is the visible frame, the podcast is about much more. The series sheds light on men who feel marginalized and pushed to the edge of societal norms. Some fight to prove their strength, others to honor family or find an identity they can relate to. The podcast nuances the picture of the environment and opens a debate about masculinity, community, and malaise - topics that are often overlooked in public conversation, where the focus is often more on women's mental challenges. “Our goal is not to shock but to understand. When we get close to the men, we do not see monsters - we see humans searching for meaning, community, and recognition,” says journalist Christian Anker.
With journalistic techniques rarely heard in the podcast medium, the series opens the doors into an environment where you feel the atmospheres, hear the voices, and get close to the people living a very different and boundary-seeking life.
“Undergrunden: The Danish Fight Club” consists of six episodes and premieres on September 22, 2025 - only on Podimo. The podcast is created with support from Public Service Puljen. Find the podcast here.

Premiere: Transferguru
New podcast gives you a complete overview of the Danish transfer market

In a new podcast collaboration between Tipsbladet and Podimo, football fans now have weekly access to a complete overview of the movements in the Danish transfer market: from the sure deals to the most sensational rumors.
Behind the microphone is Farzam Abolhosseini, Denmark's unrecognized king of transfer journalism. Premiere: Branco fortæller sin historie – ærligt og uden filter
He has rapped about a life that few know – with a language so sharp and honest that it has made him one of the most prominent voices in Danish music. Now Branco turns his gaze inward.
In the new original podcast “Branco against Branco”, which premieres on May 19 exclusively on Podimo, he tells his story – honestly and without filter. Over ten episodes, the listeners are invited up close to the life that Branco has only hinted at in his lyrics so far. From childhood on the block and the musical breakthrough to fame. Along the way, he shares the choices he has made, the consequences they have had – and the life experiences that have shaped him. It is a rare insight into the person behind the music, told in his own voice in conversation with journalist and author Thomas Skov.
How does one become who they are – and what has it cost?
In “Branco against Branco” we meet both the artist and the person. Through personal reflections and poetic narratives, an honest and intimate portrait of a man is drawn, who has chosen to close a chapter – and now looks back to understand where he comes from and what it has taken to get there.
“There is always a flip side to the coin. You know the one with one feather that turns into five hens – but what if it is the other way around? If one rooster turns into five feathers? Tune in and learn,” says Branco.
Branco has left a clear mark on Danish music over the past decade with his unique blend of street realism, vulnerability, and lyrical precision. Now he uses his voice in a new format and invites listeners up close. All that he has learned through the school of life – about people, choices, consequences, and hope – he now passes on.
“Branco against Branco” is released exclusively on Podimo on May 19, 2025 - and the following nine Mondays.

Premiere: Transferguru
New podcast gives you a complete overview of the Danish transfer market
Who is buying FCK's next star? What does Brøndby's new midfielder cost? And why did that deal actually fall through? In a new podcast collaboration between Tipsbladet and Podimo, football fans now have weekly access to a complete overview of the movements in the Danish transfer market: from the sure deals to the most sensational rumors.
Behind the microphone is Farzam Abolhosseini, Denmark's unrecognized king of transfer journalism. For everyone following the Superliga closely, Farzam's name is almost as well-known as Vallys, Delaney, or Franculino - but instead of scoring goals, it is his sharp eye for news from the transfer market that has earned him a reputation as the most reliable source in Danish football.
Farzam fills in the gaps in the stories about the transfers we've already heard or read about, and he simultaneously unveils the deals we are still unaware of.
"We have already experienced one of the most crazy transfer windows in Danish football with record deals, big sales, and unusually high activity in several clubs - and I expect that it will only continue. In ‘Transferguru,’ I will delve into the biggest and most interesting news and take the listeners behind the scenes where access is normally restricted. My goal is to provide an exclusive and unique insight into one of the most exciting aspects of football: transfers," says Farzam Abolhosseini.
A weekly transfer overview Every week, ‘Transferguru’ summarizes completed, ongoing, and potential deals in and around Danish football. From the confirmed transfers to the most trustworthy rumors, listeners get everything from “deadline day” drama to the small details like sign-on fees and medical checks. The podcast is for football fans who want to go behind the scenes and gain a better understanding of what is happening outside the green field.
The hosts: Farzam Abolhosseini, journalist at Tipsbladet and Denmark's leading transfer journalist, and Peter Hjulmand, journalist, host, and captain of Tårnby FF’s Denmark series team.
‘Transferguru’ is available only on Podimo from August 15, 2025, and is subsequently released every Friday. Link to the podcast here & download press material here.
