‘Stretching the Chewing Gum’ returns with the premiere of its sixth season

Oct 20, 2023

The wait is over, they are back! And this time, with ten exclusive episodes for Podimo. After the live broadcast of the last episode of the fifth season, "Estirando el Chicle" has returned this week with its sixth season.

Carolina and Victoria will be here every Tuesday with smart people because they are already beautiful (or not). A new season begins where they talk with very smart women who are experts on a lot of topics. But this is not the case in the first show, as the experts are them. In this episode, they want to be positive, but without being toxic, and they analyze the concept of flowing or not flowing in love.

In this initial episode, Carolina Iglesias and Victoria Martín have gathered in a more intimate atmosphere: just them in front of the microphones, recalling their beginnings. Collaborating with them is Patri Espejo, who may not be going through her best moment in terms of romantic relationships and encourages us that if we have a partner, we should NEVER leave them.

They have started the season by reminiscing about their summer, during which Carolina celebrated her birthday in a special way. “This year I turned 30, and when we started the first series, I was 25, but I haven't stressed out about it. I celebrate on August 8, which is a day in the middle of summer when there's no one around to celebrate. This year several friends came, and I felt very loved; I was so nervous that people were there for me,” she explains. To which Victoria adds that it has been a quiet summer for her, in which she has discovered that she is a fitness legend.

Our two protagonists, also known as Tronchi and Monchi, started talking about non-toxic positivity. A topic that Victoria delves into with an anecdote about how, as a child, a friend of hers pretended to be the boy she liked by faking a love letter from him. “I have never been a positive person, and it was because I was a super happy kid, but I had a horrible friend in school,” she adds. On the other hand, Carolina confesses: “I do consider myself a positive person, but above all practical. I don't dwell on pain because I analyze it and move on, and that doesn't mean I don't feel things. I face pain, manage it, but I don’t wallow in it.”

Throughout the episode, they discuss topics such as fear, to which Victoria shares: “I am a person with many fears and I don't go out much because I'm afraid of living and having bad things happen to me. The other day I thought: ‘How lucky I am in life,’ because I have a job I like, I have good friends, my family loves me… and I told Nacho: ‘Something bad will happen to me soon because I'm having too much luck,’ and he told me I didn't need to have anything bad happen.”

Carolina and Victoria wanted to address a very present topic on social media, which is the idea that they don’t get along. An idea that is based on their constant teasing in the podcast. “They think that the things you do, like the Grand Prix, bother me. I’m excited for you to be called for TV, even if I don’t post it on social media. It's something that happens even with the collaborators,” Victoria clarifies.

Additionally, during this hour of the episode, you can also hear Victoria's plan for when she is 45 and how she would organize a threesome, love from Carol’s perspective, and how addictive they are, or not, to love. All of this and much more, available here, on Podimo.
