Renew your ears and mind: 4 New Year's resolutions

Dec 28, 2023

Each New Year presents us with a blank page, an opportunity to reflect on the path traveled and visualize the future we want to build. New Year’s resolutions are not just simple goals; they are objectives that we verbalize to give value to the changes we want to make, even if they later get left behind. To prevent this from happening and to avoid them lingering in the air, it’s better to accompany them with a bit of entertainment, and what better than with podcasts that address the areas we want to work on. For this, we propose four resolutions for 2024 and what to accompany them with:

  • Getting to know oneself and working on personal development.

The New Year is a time for reflection and new beginnings, making it an ideal moment to set goals and objectives to improve our lives. In our daily lives, we often encounter situations that lead us to want to understand ourselves better, a complex but essential task. When we know ourselves well, we are capable of making better decisions, establishing more satisfying relationships, and achieving our objectives more easily.

This year, make self-knowledge and personal development a priority on your list. And to make it easier, enjoyable, and entertaining, start with podcasts like "Croquis Mental"  with Merigo or "Bendita Terapia" with  Patricia Espejo and Silvia Llop.

  • Learning about the unknown.

Starting the year is also an excuse to learn new things, explore, and perhaps discover topics that may catch your attention. So, this year, propose to learn new trades with the expert season of "Estirando el Chicle" with Victoria Martín and Carolina Iglesias is the perfect opportunity. It’s also a chance to resolve all those doubts you thought you’d never have an answer to, with Judith Tiral in “Tenía la Duda” accompanied by experts in all subjects.

Additionally, within the variety of the podcast universe, there are all kinds of branches to learn from and inform yourself about, including science. This year, give a fascinating twist to your routine by aiming to learn about science in an accessible and entertaining way, all with podcasts like "Hipermovidas" with QuantumFracture and Galder Varas or “Ciencia o Evidencia” with David Callejo and Eva Rojas.

  • Working on your well-being.

On the path to a new year, redefine your resolutions towards overall well-being for yourself. It’s an ideal moment to reflect and set objectives and goals without the need for the diet culture that continues to wreak havoc on the physical and mental health of individuals. Discover nutrition and "Body positive" through podcasts like "Esto es Nutrición" with Stefy and Vicky, "Sanamente" with Marta Pérez, and "La Gorda Está Triunfando" with Ceci Wallace.

  • Learning and talking about parenting.

Parenthood is something that one must learn and improve on every day, but it’s also important to share everything that entails, such as exhaustion, stress, mental health, or sexuality. One of the most recurring resolutions on our list is to express, talk, listen, and understand. There’s nothing better than feeling understood. We can immerse ourselves in the richness of parenting with the podcasts "Quieres Ser Mi Padre" with Mario Marzo and Dane and "La Vida Secreta de las Madres" with Andrea Ros and Paola Roig, both to learn from others and to hear experiences (good and bad) and not feel alone in situations we thought only happened to others, because sometimes they are not talked about.
