New award for the podcast "In the golden cage"
Nov 15, 2021
"En la jaula de oro" continues to accumulate awards just a few months after its launch. This time, the Aliados Foundation has been responsible for cataloging the podcast as the best in the radio category in the sixth edition of its Gender Violence Journalism Awards. The podcast, originally from Podimo and produced by El Cañonazo and The Facto, has already accumulated thousands of listens both in Spain and Latin America and aims to be one of the great productions of the year, not only for the awards received to date but also for the importance of its message to society as a whole.
This award joins the one obtained a few weeks ago at the Latin Podcast Awards, where En la jaula de oro won in the category for best documentary breakthrough podcast.
The jury of these awards valued the story of Gabriela, a woman from high Spanish society abused by her husband, as the best work presented in its category "for its journalistic and documentary quality and for its originality, in a format that is here to stay".
En la jaula de oro is a docufiction that breaks with the schemas of abused women and makes visible the macho violence in the upper class, the silences and guilt that are difficult to assimilate. A story based on investigative journalism techniques, stemming from a recent corruption case in Spain involving high-ranking officials of the administration, which presents the story in a truthful and real way.
