The podcast and audiobook platform Podimo has firmly positioned itself in the audiovisual landscape by receiving four important nominations in the third edition of the Global Ondas Podcast Awards in the categories Best Host, Best Videopodcast, and Best Conversational. This recognition not only underscores the quality and diversity of Podimo's exclusive content but also its commitment to promoting podcast culture in the Spanish-speaking community.
With a 40% increase in the nominations received compared to its first edition, the Global Ondas Podcast Awards this year featured 1,252 proposals from 19 different countries, consolidating its position as one of the most prestigious awards in the sector at a global level.
Among the nominees from Podimo is the podcast ‘Malas Personas’, which has captivated both the audience and the jury, receiving two nominations in the categories Best Host and Best Videopodcast. This podcast, presented by Victoria Martín, offers a unique space to explore the complexities of human nature through humor and self-reflection. Its success adds to the excitement for the premiere of its third season, marking another milestone in its journey.
On the other hand, ‘Sabor a Queer’, the innovative podcast by David Velduque and Neurads, has also been recognized with a nomination in the Best Videopodcast category. Exclusively created on Podimo, this program invites the audience to question established norms and celebrate diversity, combining discussions of deep topics with a hopeful and revolutionary tone.
In the category of Best Conversational, the podcast ‘Do You Want to Be My Friend?’ by Mario Marzo and Dane Rivarola has been nominated thanks to its ability to transform everyday conversations into moments of pure entertainment. Through more than 100 episodes, these creators have managed to create a space where friendship and humor intertwine masterfully.
Isabel Salazar, country manager of Podimo in Spain, has expressed her pride in these nominations, highlighting Podimo's commitment to the development of the podcast industry in Spain and its role as the main sponsor of the awards in 2024. “Our goal at Podimo is to support the development of the podcast industry in Spain. In this sense, the Global Ondas Podcast Awards seem like a key pillar to continue highlighting the work of creators and producers,” said Salazar.
The awards ceremony, which will take place in June at the Teatro Circo Price in Madrid, promises to be a standout event in the cultural calendar, recognizing talent and creativity in the world of Spanish-speaking podcasts. With these nominations, Podimo reaffirms its position as a leader in quality content and a key sponsor in the industry, paving the way for the future of audiovisual entertainment.
