Podimo, present in major podcasting events in Spanish
Nov 27, 2020
The Podimo's commitment to enhancing the world of podcasting goes far beyond offering exclusive content on our platform. In addition to supporting the industry and its creators, since our arrival in Spain, we have been actively involved in conveying the importance of podcasts and all the possibilities that this format offers. Therefore, during the month of November, we have been the official sponsors of some of the most important Spanish-speaking events in the podcast world.
Aware that this is a growing industry, both in the XIV Edition of the National Podcasting Conferences (JPOD) and in Podcast Day as a Business (Redcast), we have been present with the aim of sharing our knowledge and experiences, as well as presenting the subscription model that characterizes us and thus showing the different distribution methods that podcasts have today.
XIV Edition of the National Podcasting Conferences
A special edition, marked by the online format due to coronavirus restrictions, which featured the presence of Javier Celaya, Head of Spanish Markets and José Antonio Gelado, our Creator & Publisher Relations Manager, to discuss the different and varied podcast distribution models. The conferences began with the inaugural panel "The Decade of Paid Podcasts" in which Javier Celaya was present alongside other industry players to analyze the current situation of this model and its growth forecast for the coming years. With more than 15 years of experience in the podcasting sector, our representative at these conferences provided some data in addition to shedding light on an industry that seems to have entered its 'Golden Age' but has been in development for more than a decade.
The reason for this podcasting boom is driven by different factors, as explained by José Antonio Gelado in his presentation, among which are:
Change in the way we produce culture and entertainment due to technology.
Increase in on-demand consumption and exclusive content selections.
Social networks drive the success of short content.
These are just some of the highlights of the presentation framed in the XIV National Podcasting Conferences, which you can enjoy in full here.
Podcast Day as a Business
At the virtual conferences organized by Redcast on the occasion of podcast day as a business, José Antonio Gelado was also present to talk about the different podcast distribution models. On this occasion, the flexibility we offer at Podimo in podcast distribution, combining exclusivity with dissemination through different communication channels, was one of the highlights of the conference, which you can enjoy at this link.
For his part, Javier Celaya was present at the round table with representatives from other platforms like Ivoox, Podium Podcast, and Audible, where interesting topics for the industry such as monetization, sector evolution, or the role of Latin America within the Spanish podcast world were addressed.
