‘Special People Club’ returns with the premiere of its second season
Apr 1, 2024
After a month of rest and insistence, the second season of 'Special People Club' begins, with more special people, circuses, and fantasies. Enjoy the conversations of Esty Quesada (@soyunapringadalol) with her guests in the treehouse, an intimate and comfortable corner where they chat about all those little things that concern us with a blanket on their heads and a flashlight pointed at their faces.
The first person to step into the treehouse this season could only be Jorge Javier Vázquez, an icon of television in Spain. They are joined by a special guest, Yenesi, and collaborator Glenda Galore.
From the beginning, Jorge Javier expresses his excitement to meet Esty. “People like you help me a lot because you point out things I need to see. When I see you, you talk about many things I don’t understand. […] References, actors, actresses, series... and that's when I realize about age,” he explains.
Throughout the episode, they talk about age, growing old, and what it entails, to the point where Jorge Javier tells Esty that he sees in her a compassion that can only be achieved with age, and Esty calls Jorge Javier's mother delusional.
There could not be a lack of a review of the guest's eras on television. Jorge Javier highlights what has been one of the most important lessons he learned and found hardest to internalize: “Just because people watch something a lot, doesn’t mean they like it. Many people watch it just to get upset [...] Hate, in the end, is a form of love.”
This time, the door of the treehouse opened twice to receive Yenesi and Glenda Galore. With them, Esty and Jorge Javier share the differences between today's society and that of the past, especially when there were no social networks or smartphones. From the Spartacus Guide to Grindr.
A new season, but the same schedule. Every other Tuesday a new episode of 'Special People Club' is available and in the alternating week for each premiere, The Special of SPC, extra material where Esty reflects on issues related to the previous episode and its guests. All exclusively on Podimo. First episode available here! As Esty would say: ¡Agur!
