The downloads of news podcasts have increased by 100% this year compared to the previous year, according to Podtrac. Although informative podcasts only represent 6% of the total podcast offering available worldwide, there are more than 75 million active podcast episodes in over 100 languages, and their listening levels are much higher than other categories such as audio fiction podcasts.
