We celebrate International Podcast Day alongside our creators.

Sep 30, 2023

On September 30th, Podcast Day is celebrated, and at Podimo, we are doing it in style with an expansion of our content library: diverse, innovative, and exclusive shows for all our listeners. Additionally, our creators have joined the celebration of Podcast Day and have some videos for you.

In 2014, Steve Lee, founder of the American website Modern Life Network, celebrated National Podcast Day with a six-hour uninterrupted broadcast. Its impact was so great that the following year, the initiative became global. Today, from Podimo, we join this celebration to highlight the voices and content creators who bring to life and fill each show with stories and experiences that deserve to be told.

So there’s no better way to celebrate this day than with exciting releases and new seasons of podcasts, the vast majority of which have recently debuted with episodes ranging from conversations filled with personal stories, family, current events, and politics, to pure entertainment.

The premieres, Sincericidio (with actress Ana Fernández and Celia Gallego), La ley del ojalá (by Juanjo Rengel), and No te creas especial (by Lula Gómez and Guille Magán) come loaded with anecdotes for every listener. Anecdotes that add to the new episodes of Entre el cielo y las nubes (by Laura Escanes), ¿Quieres ser mi amigo? (Mario Marzo and Dane Rivarola), Querido hater (Malbert), Bendita terapia (Patricia Espejo and Silvia Llop), Queridas hermanas (Sindy Takanashi), No es para tanto (Cisco García and Raquel Rostro), La vida secreta de las madres (Paola Roig and Andrea Ros), Mimicidios (Mimi XXL), and Tenía la duda (Judith Tiral).

Podcasts that will not only immerse users in an auditory experience but also in a visual one, if they wish, thanks to the videopodcast. The format most chosen by our creators to complement their stories and by our users to consume podcasts: "For new generations, video is their native form of communication and blends very well with the conversational genre. Also, they use it as a new source of information," states Isabel Salazar, Country Manager in Spain for Podimo, according to internal analyses developed by the platform.

If your life were a podcast, what would it be called?

To celebrate International Podcast Day and learn more about our creators, the Podimo team has posed two questions: If your life were a podcast, what would it be called? and what has been the most uncomfortable moment you’ve found yourself in while recording a podcast? In these two videos, Ana Milán and Sebastián Gallego (La vida y tal), Laura Escanes (Entre el cielo y las nubes), Malbert (Querido hater), Victoria Martín (Malas personas), Esty Quesada (Special People Club), among other hosts, have answered these questions, in their characteristic style.

2023, a year filled with significant milestones

This day is also an opportunity to highlight the growth that Podimo has experienced throughout the year, in our commitment to becoming a reference for audio and entertainment in Europe. Promoting Madrid as the audio creation center of the continent with the Madrid Audio Hub and the establishment of the first recording studio in southern Europe. As well as the results of our talent program, which will be communicated in October to the selected candidates in this first edition of the Talent Hub.
