Podimo launches on September 17.

Sep 15, 2019

.. and therefore it is now time to tell a little more about what is in store!

We created the Podimo platform because we love podcasts. In all the endlessly many variations and genres of the format. And we believe that the podcast format represents an important alternative in a media landscape that is becoming increasingly flickering and superficial.

Podcasts are certainly synonymous with immersion. And at Podimo, we would like to help spread even better podcast content, because good podcasts across many genres can make us a little wiser about ourselves and the world we live in. Therefore, you will find a lot of new and existing podcasts on Podimo that challenge, entertain, and inspire – and that gather many different listeners in both small and large communities.

We are soon airborne

Podimo launches on September 17th and will be available in both a free and a premium version. In the free version, "Free", you will be able to find the podcasts that are also available on other podcast platforms and services, and listen as much and as long as you want. The paid version, "Premium", will also contain a lot of exclusive and original content that you won't find anywhere else. Initially, there will be about 100 different program titles released continuously over the next 4-6 months. The price will be announced shortly – and you can still manage to get three months of free trial if you sign up at podimo.dk before we go live.

We strengthen the ecosystem

The membership revenue from Podimo Premium will be used to strengthen the ecosystem for podcasters. It costs time and money to create quality content. By choosing Podimo Premium, you directly support your favorite podcasters, as we share the individual member's monthly payment directly with the podcasters you listen to. By sharing revenue with those who create the content, we believe that both podcasters and listeners can be part of a model that is both fair and transparent. And which in the long run will hopefully ensure even more content that has both breadth, quality, and depth. Looking at other media industries, subscription models for both TV, music, and books have increased the overall market and the total value for the benefit of all the creative forces behind.

We have a long list ready - and we are continuously expanding it

There are many existing and new podcasters who exclusively release podcasts on Podimo. The list of well-known and newer names and programs is long and expands day by day: Third Ear, Casper Christensen, The 6 Hats, Thomas Arent, Jarl Cordua, Hella Joof, Kenn Hansen, Bubber, Ane Cortzen, The Bad Judges, Liv Thomsen, Morten Kirkskov, Frank Arnesen, Geo, Jonatan Spang, Ane Høgsberg, Rikke Collin, Pernille W. Lauritsen, Katherine Diez, Mathias Helt, Signe Amtoft, Kristian Leth, and Ralf Christensen … plus many, many more.

An app tailored for podcasts

Podimo is an app tailored for podcasts, which will make it much easier for you to find exactly the content that is interesting and relevant for you. For many users, it can be difficult to navigate in the vast sea of podcasts, which is why we are investing not only significant resources in content now and in the near future but also massively in developing the Podimo app itself.

We are a team of about 25 passionate people at Podimo, who are working (almost) around the clock leading up to the launch to give you the best experience when we launch on September 17th. We are super excited. And we hope that you want to become a part of Podimo – either as a listener or as a podcaster.

Best regards

Andreas Sachse, Sverre Dueholm, Eva Lægdsgaard, Nikolaj Koppel, and Morten Strunge
