Mar 26, 2020

Dear Podcasterin,

Dear Podcaster,

We are very pleased to finally inform you that the first statistics for your podcasts are now available in the Podcaster Studio!

In less than four months, more than 100,000 people have downloaded the app and started using Podimo to listen to podcasts. Every day, there are more! To best understand the listeners of your podcast and their listening behavior, you need the right tools. Starting today, you will find a first beta version of useful statistics & graphics in the Podcaster Studio, which we will explain in more detail in this blog post. This is a first version that we will continuously expand.

To help you get started working with the statistics right away, we have explained the various data points in this blog post.

You can select the time period for which you want to see data in the upper right corner of the Podcaster Studio.

The total number of streams and how many new streams have been added in the period will also be displayed there. A stream is counted as soon as a unique listener, in other words, an individual listener, has listened to an episode for at least 60 seconds. A unique listener can listen to multiple episodes per day, which is why the number of streams may be higher than the number of unique listeners.

The total number of followers, as well as the number of new followers that have been added during the selected period, will also be displayed to you. Thus, you will always know how many listeners have subscribed to your podcast on Podimo.

The ratings show you what percentage of your ratings were positive, that is, rated with “thumbs up.”

The completion rate shows the percentage of your listeners who have listened to more than 90% of an episode of your podcast. You can see the average completion rate across all episodes, as well as for each individual episode.

Below you will find an example of data from a successful podcast on Podimo.

The following graphic shows the development of unique listeners per day for the selected period. A unique listener is counted when a listener listens to one of your episodes. A unique listener can listen to an episode multiple times or take a break while listening. Therefore, the number of streams in a day can be higher than the number of unique listeners.

The following graphic shows the development of streams per day for the selected period. This way, you can see how this number develops and how posts on your social networks or special guests influence this number.

To view individual episodes in detail, simply click on the respective episode.

The numbers must, of course, be viewed with the consideration that we have only recently been active in Germany. We are growing incredibly fast, and every day thousands of people download our app to listen to their podcasts via Podimo. Nevertheless, we are still at the beginning of our journey. Let us walk this path together and develop an ecosystem for podcasts that puts this wonderful medium on sustainable and stable footing.

We look forward to your input!

These statistics are a beta version that we will continuously expand. Our goal is to provide you with the best and most insightful insights so that you can continuously improve your podcast.
