The successful podcast finally in German

International podcast fans already know the format from England, where the true crime podcast has stormed all the charts. Now it is finally available on the German market – as a video podcast with none other than Ines Anioli and Laura Larsson as hosts. They discuss “The list of absolutely everything that can kill you”. And there really is everything included!

What is it about?

These are everyday objects and activities, some of which seem more dangerous than others. But how deadly are vending machines, hot air balloons, and the like? Ines and Laura “battle” not only over the potentially greater danger in their new true crime podcast on Podimo but also create the list of absolutely everything that can kill you. And they have a secret weapon: The “deadliness expert” Prof. Jennifer Visser-Rogers decodes how likely it really is to “kick the bucket” with the respective object based on the risk unit mikromort.

The risk unit Mikromort

The mikromort is a risk unit developed by Ronald Arthur Howard to measure the danger of various activities and objects. It corresponds to a chance of 1 in 1 million of dying. For example:

• Skydiving → 8 mikromorts

• Giving birth → 170 mikromorts

• Climbing Mount Everest → 37,932 mikromorts 

• Normal day as a 20-year-old → 1 mikromort

But how many mikromorts do elevators, bees, and oranges have? You will find out exclusively in “The list of absolutely everything that can kill you”.

Who are the hosts?

• Ines Anioli moved to Berlin after a classic Ruhr area childhood to do something with media. And Ines does a lot with media: She is a trained radio host, journalist, and podcaster, but her main profession is as a comedienne touring Germany with her current program “GODDESS” and her true crime podcast “Weird Crimes” with Visa Vie.

• Laura Larsson is charming, quick-witted, and hilarious. Her open nature and relatable humor are contagious and make the host unmistakably unique. Laura was nominated for the German Radio Award for her first own radio show, is already a successful podcaster, and loves to tour with her programs.
