The Mysterious Disappearance of Karl-Erivan Haub

On April 7, 2018, billionaire Karl-Erivan Haub disappeared while training for the upcoming Swiss ski race “Patrouille des Glaciers” in the Matterhorn area – since then, there has been no trace of him. Due to the climatic conditions, there was little chance of finding him alive, despite his family’s hopes, and an intensive search for him was only possible after the snow melted. Nevertheless, his body was never found. In October 2018, the search for Karl-Erivan Haub was finally called off, and in May 2021, the entrepreneur was officially declared dead.

What happened to the Tengelmann billionaire?

A missing billionaire, with no sign of life for over five years. Is Karl-Erivan Haub really dead, or is there much more behind his disappearance? Speculations suggest that he may be leading a secret double life and has gone into hiding with a lover in Russia. This theory is supported by the fact that Tengelmann company funds disappeared to Russia in the years before Haub’s disappearance. Is the billionaire entrepreneur actually still alive? And is he with a lover in Russia?

The Tengelmann Files – The True Crime Documentary Podcast

Karl-Erivan Haub left not a single trace after his disappearance. To this day, many questions remain unanswered: Was it really a tragic accident? Or is the well-trained extreme athlete still alive? Although Haub was officially declared dead, his body has not been found to this day. The investigative journalist Liv von Boetticher has researched the case for years and has been able to access strictly confidential files. They show: Karl-Erivan Haub could still be alive – and in Russia.  Was Haub really involved in dubious business there? Why would he go into hiding in Russia? Why did the FBI and the CIA have Haub on their radar? And what does the Russian intelligence service have to do with all of this?

Where is Karl-Erivan Haub?

Together with Tom Ehrhardt, Liv von Boetticher delves deep into her research once again in the True Crime Doku Podcast and tells the story of a man who seemingly disappeared without a trace, leaving behind a web of secrets that still leads to intense discussions and speculations today. She reports on encounters with backers and informants, travels to Switzerland and Russia, and the enormous resistance she encountered in her work. Liv and Tom let the key players in the case speak and place the research findings into a larger context.  In “The Tengelmann Files”, it’s about billions, global power structures, and the crucial question: Where is Karl-Erivan Haub?
